MINIX from Scratch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Minix from Scratch (MFS) is a computing project that seeks to document the process of creating the Minix operating system from beginning to finish ("from scratch"), for the purpose of educating operating system students and hobbyists about the system design concepts Andrew Tanenbaum applied in Minix. MFS was inspired by both the Linux From Scratch project and the Minix OS itself.

The current project team consists of Will Senn, Terry Wong, and Rob Gonzalez; the project is actively seeking new software developers. Although the MFS book is incomplete, the MFS website features a wiki and external links to Minix software documentation.
