Mima District, Tokushima

Mima (美馬郡 -gun?) is a district located in Tokushima, Japan.
As of 2000, the district has an estimated population of 12,280 and a density of 86.23 persons per km². The total area is 194.80 km².

Two mergers left Mima with a sole town:
On March 1, 2005, the towns of Anabuki, Mima, and Waki, and the village of Koyadaira, merged to form the city of Mima. Because districts do not contain cities, the new city is not part of Mima District.
On the same date, the towns of Handa and Sadamitsu and the village of Ichiu merged and formed the new town of Tsurugi, which remains in Mima District.
