The 1st Commando Regiment is a mixed regular and reservist commando regiment of the Australian Army. It is part of the Australian Special Operations Command (SOCOMD). The regiment formed on 1 February 1981 by joining the 1st and 2nd Commando Companies. The units Headquarters is located in Randwick, New South Wales. While 1 Commando Company is located in HMAS Penguin, Balmoral, New South Wales and 2 Company Fort Gellibrand in Williamstown, Victoria. The unit motto is "Strike Swiftly".
