• 1918 - Troops of the 2nd Division capture the town of Montbrehain suffering 430 casualties
• 1918 - George Morby Ingram wins a VC in Montbrehain, France
• 1951 - HMAS Sydney begins her first patrol in Korean waters
• 1951 - Australian Government announces that 1RAR will becomes the second battalion commited to Korea, it arrived in March
