Milwaukee Bavarians are an American soccer team, part of the larger Bavarian Soccer Club organisation, which was founded in 1929. The team is a member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, which it joined in 2005. The team currently play in the Midwest Conference against teams from Detroit, Grand Rapids, Madison, Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The Club was formed by German immigrants as Fussball Club Bayern as a mulit-sports association. Their first football match was played on September 29, 1929 against Sheboygan F.C., resulting in a 3-2 victory for Fussball Club Bayern.
The club became very strong in its area, winning many state championships. In 1956 they took their present name and bought a new field to play home matches on. In 1976 they won their first National Amatuer Cup, when they beat Trenton New Jersey 3-1 in the final. They repeated this success in 2001, defeating Sporting F.C. of California 3-2. They have also finished as runners-up in this tournament on several occasions, in 1983, 1994, 1999 and 2000.
The Bavarians play their home matches in the stadium at the Bavarian Soccer Club in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The team's colors are blue and white.
