Mill Street is a Canadian brewery founded in 2002 by partners Michael Duggan, Jeffrey Cooper and Steve Abrams in Toronto. Michael Duggan is the brewmaster. It has won numerous awards in its relatively short existence, including Golden Tap Awards in 2004, 2005 & 2006 for Best Toronto Microbrewery and Best Toronto Beer (for Tankhouse Pale Ale).
The brewery was originally located in the historic Distillery District, the former industrial complex occupied by spirits maker Gooderham and Worts. The brewery name came from the Distillery District's address, 55 Mill Street. In early 2006, brewing was moved to a much larger facility in Scarborough, Ontario, and the Distillery District location was closed for several months before reopening in October, 2006 as a brewpub. The brewpub features all of the regular Mill Street beers as well as seasonal and other special/one-off releases.
