Mile End tube station on 24 October 2005, looking east from the westbound platform.

The tracks in the centre of the photograph are for the District and Hammersmith and City Lines. Central Line trains use the tracks at the outer edge, offering a cross-platform interchange between services in the same direction. This is the only below-ground station on the London Underground network that a cross-platform interchange between sub-surface and tube lines is possible.
