[edit] The Edit Limit
Mike, as far as I know, your edit limit still applies, and you seem to have made more than 21 today. Ambi 04:46, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I know. I was just busy trying to finish some articles. -- Mike Garcia 04:51, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you for making good edits
Mike, first of all, thank you for trying to keep to the rules. It is very important that you keep to the edit limit. Please remember that a lot of people are watching you. I will see what we can do to raise the limit very soon. Thanks. And thank you for making good edits. Danny 12:05, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- You're welcome. -- Mike Garcia 21:46, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Going over 21 edits on anything
Mike, I want to raise your edit limit, but people keep telling me you are already going over. Please stick to 21 edits (that does not include talk pages or downloading images). I you can do that for the next few days, I will be able to raise the limit. Thanks. Danny 23:23, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- OK. -- Mike Garcia 03:10, 8 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Edit Limit
Hi Mike. I am raising your edit limit to 25. Please stay within that limit and I will raise it again shortly. Danny 17:46, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Okay. -- Mike Garcia 21:45, 9 Oct 2004
Just watch the 25, that way I can raise it again tomorrow. Danny 00:18, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Hi Mike. Once again I want to remind you to watch the edit limits, so that people don't complain. Look at the times and dates when you edit. That way, I can raise the limit again. Danny 14:29, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Got it. -- Mike Garcia 14:31, 10 Oct 2004
[edit] Moving in to 27
Hi Mike. I upped your edit limit to 27. Danny 00:58, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I see. I just saw it at my user page. -- Mike Garcia 03:10, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Mellow Gold
I see that you just changed the release date for Golden Feelings (in the Beck article and also the album infobox on Mellow Gold) from 1993 to 1992.
Given that the Allmusic Guide says it was released "at the beginning of 1993" [1], and given your history on Wikipedia, I'm going to have to ask for some evidence on this one. —Stormie 02:49, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)
- Well, on different websites I thought it said '92 instead of '93. But, i'll just leave it to 1993. -- Mike Garcia 14:13, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

- Could you give us an example of one of these websites? --Tagishsimon

- It was on these websites I just searched from Yahoo and Google: [2], [3] and some other language pages of Wikipedia. -- Mike Garcia 14:19, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

- Many thanks. I'd advise that we're probably better referring to something like Allmusic, than someone's personal listing of their CDs. but the list does, as you say, indicate (perhaps incorrectly) that it was a 1992 release. --Tagishsimon

- Cheers Mike, thanks for that. My guess would be that things got mixed up a little since Golden Feelings was apparently recorded in 1992 but released in 1993. No offence intended by my original question, and I hope none taken. —Stormie 00:25, Oct 14, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Up to 30 & higher
Hi Mike. You are up to 30 now. Danny 14:51, 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Wow. -- Mike Garcia 14:44, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
35 now. Danny 01:51, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Wow to that again. -- Mike Garcia 01:53, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Album covers
Yes, I have added infoboxes before. I was just going through the list of albums missing covers and adding them yesterday. Fixing albums missing infoboxes is a lot more work though, so I thought I'd get the quick ones to fix done first, then look at doing the harder stuff. :) Shane King 23:05, Nov 7, 2004 (UTC)
- Very good. -- Mike Garcia 23:11, 7 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Warmest Regards
Thank you for your edits this past few month. In my view, you have fully redeemed yourself. Warmest regards, Neutrality (hopefully!) 03:00, Oct 19, 2004 (UTC)
- No problem. -- Mike Garcia 21:49, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Up to 40 now. Keep up the great work! Danny 03:34, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I will always keep up the good work. -- Mike Garcia 03:37, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I protected the page for you. Danny 03:48, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- OK. Good. -- Mike Garcia 03:59, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Hi Mike, if you see any more vandalism, then Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress is a better page to report that to, rather than Wikipedia:Pages needing attention. Angela. 04:06, Oct 23, 2004 (UTC)
- OK. -- Mike Garcia 14:50, 23 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Hi Mike. I'm just wondering. The article on The Used says that they are emo, but in the table, you classified their album as punk. Should one of them be changed? Danny 01:16, 24 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Yes, I fixed it. -- Mike Garcia 01:17, 24 Oct 2004 (UTC)
You are at 50 now. Danny 04:25, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)

60 now. Danny 03:28, 8 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Hi Mike. I think it would probably be a good idea not to say anything to Hephaestos. Please just leave it alone and give it time to heal. Thanks. Danny 02:40, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was just asking him a question if he remembers me. -- Mike Garcia 03:34, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Opportunity knocks yet again
Since you don't seem to have noticed my last message to you (since you didn't respond before archiving it) I thought that I'd repost it again, updated to reflect the additional 6 weeks that have gone by:
Hi "Mike". I thought I'd just drop in to give you an opportunity to apologize for all your unbelievable rudeness in the past when I kept reverting you for violating the hard ban that you were under at the time. Of course, since you've been allowed by our fearless leader to edit again, you've technically had this opportunity for 9-10 weeks now, but hey, I figured I'd refresh your memory. Cheers! --Dante Alighieri | Talk 21:35, Nov 16, 2004 (UTC)
- I'm so sorry, Dante. I don't remember you sending me an e-mail of that. Was it sent to the right e-mail address? Mike_garcia222003@yahoo.com -- Mike Garcia 22:56, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Yes, one would think that "Mike" would like to visit Hephaestos's page and apologize to him, too, but I guess he doesn't feel he needs to, since so many people are bending over backwards to forget the orgies of vandalism, obscenities, and name-calling he has indulged in in the past. RickK 00:18, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
- Mike has apologized to Hephaestos. As was discussed earlier, apologies do not have to be made publicly to anyone. Nevertheless, Hephaestos had some nice comments for Mike here. Danny 04:47, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
-
- As near as I can tell, no one asserted that apologies HAD to be made public to anyone, so you saying that they don't need to be seems a non sequitur. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 08:20, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
I think demanding apologies for ancient history is rather pointless. Look to the future, Dante! Let it go! :-) RickK, we don't need to forget -- but we can forgive. Mike's become a good user, why keep bugging him about the old days? What's the positive outcome from that? Do I think Mike should apologize to Dante and you? Yes I do. But I see no reason for us to hound him about it. Jimbo Wales 14:14, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Who's demanding? I just wasn't sure if he recalled our earlier interactions and wanted to give him an "opportunity" to comment on them. Surely that's not "hounding" him... Aside from that I'm shocked, just SHOCKED, Jimbo, that you of all people would clutter up this valuable contributor's talk page with a message to me and RickK. Shouldn't those messages have gone on OUR talk pages? Of course, this is going here since it's a direct response to the above, but feel free to move all this to the relevant talk pages, Mike. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 17:37, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
-
- Or delete them without comment, which is "Mike"'s normal way of dealing with anything he doesn't want to deal with. Yes, I can see just how valuable he is in comparison with Hephaestos, whom he virtually drove off. And I'm sure he's one of the reasons Zoe is gone, too (though she left before I met her, I've seen his attacks on her in the history of her Talk and User pages). RickK 20:38, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Hey! This is Hilary!
Hi! It's me again! I saw you in my discussion page and just thought I'd give you a reply here! Yes, this is the real Hilary, although you probably won't sbelieve me! If I am not supposed to be talking here, soooo sorry! I had no idea! I hope it's okay! --*Hil* 22:37, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC) P.S. Please don't freeze me, just tell me and I won't talk here anymore!
~*~*~*~
Hil here again! Sorry to dissapoint you, but I'm quitting Wikipedia. People here are making so much of a big deal about me. There is no real way to prove I am Hilary Duff, so I'm just getting rid of the problem. This is TOO much. Can you believe they want me to post on my website that I'm on Wikipedia? That's insane! Bye! --*Hil* 21:44, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Scott Walker
Hi, I see that you have changed the birthdate of Scott Walker in Wikipedia. Could you explain why you think the birthdate given there before you changed it is incorrect?
[edit] Template:Album
Hey, I reverted your changes at Template:Album because I think it makes the box too cluttered. There is agreement on the talk page to keep it as simple as possible, so please bring it up there if you disagree. Tuf-Kat 23:58, Nov 19, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Are you an admin?
Mike, are you an admin, or do you purposely make your edit summary look like you used the "rollback" button? See http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=American_Idiot&action=history for an example. Thanks, Taco Deposit | Talk-o Deposit 18:11, Nov 22, 2004 (UTC)
- I decide to become a admin, yes. -- Mike Garcia 22:35, 22 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Hey, that's great. Hope it goes well for you. Taco Deposit | Talk-o Deposit 22:56, Nov 22, 2004 (UTC)
Mike, just a quick note. Right now, you are not an admin. It requires a vote to become one, and I don't think it would be a good idea to be a candidate right now. Danny 23:52, 22 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[edit] The Pretender
Mike, what is your source for the release date of The Pretender? AMG says it is 1977, but they have been wrong before. Thanks, DCEdwards1966 00:42, Nov 23, 2004 (UTC)
- Sorry. That should be Running on Empty, not The Pretender. DCEdwards1966 00:45, Nov 23, 2004 (UTC)
- Found the date on Jackson Browne's own website as December 6, 1977. DCEdwards1966 00:53, Nov 23, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Adding user pages to categories
Mike, please don't add Wikipedia user pages to categories. "1979 Births," for instance, is for categorizing articles about notable people, not Wikipedia users. Also, you probably shouldn't edit other people's user pages. Rhobite 22:24, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Article Licensing
Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
[edit] Today's featured article
Hi Mike,
You added Kerplunk to Wikipedia:Today's featured article/January 17, 2005 as the day's featured article, but that isn't a featured article. In order to go on the main page an article must be peer-reviewed first and approved by the community. If you're interested in this process, you should read Wikipedia:Featured articles and Wikipedia:Today's featured article. Rhobite 02:20, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC)
- Alright. Yeah. -- Mike Garcia 02:32, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC)
Mike, pick an age and stick with it. You must've changed it a dozen times now. I don't want to be rude, and I don't care a bit how old you are, but it looks dishonest when you're always changing it. Everyking 05:35, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Sorry. I'll just stick with my recent age, because that's how old I am right now, 26 of course. -- Mike Garcia 22:38, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Mike, I sent you an important email. Danny 22:50, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
