Mike Venafro

Michael Robert Venafro (born August 2, 1973 in Takoma Park, Maryland) is a Major League Baseball left-handed pitcher. He is an alumnus of James Madison University.
Drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 29th round of the 1995 MLB amateur draft, Venafro would make his Major League Baseball debut with the Texas Rangers on April 24, 1999.
In the 2006 season, Venafro played for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, and was called up to the Rockies on September 7, 2006 and earned a win in his first appearance with the big league club.
On December 7, 2006, Venafro signed a Minor League contract with the Minnesota Twins with an invitation to Spring Training.
