Mike Sorber

Mike Sorber (born May 14, 1971 in Florissant, Missouri) is a former American soccer defensive midfielder.
Sorber played college soccer at Saint Louis University from 1989 to 1992. He made his first appearance for the U.S. national team on January 25, 1992 against the Commonwealth of Inependent States and became a regular soon after. Sorber started every game for the US at the 1994 FIFA World Cup and was capped a total of 67 times, scoring two goals.
After the 1994 World Cup, Sorber joined Mexican club UNAM Pumas and played there for a year. He was one of the original MLS allocations, signing with the Kansas City Wizards for the 1996 season. After a year with the Wiz, he was traded to the MetroStars for Damian Silvera. Sorber would spend the next three years there, before finishing out his MLS career with the Chicago Fire. In five years in the league, he scored nine goals and added 17 assists, plus a goal and five assists in the playoffs.
Sorber is currently an assistant coach at his alma mater, Saint Louis University.
