Mike Royce

Mike Royce was born in Syracuse, New York. He attended Jamesville-Dewitt High School and Ithaca College.

From 1988 to 1999, he was a standup comedian in New York City. For many years, he was also a warmup comedian for such shows as The Maury Povich Show, Viva Variety, and Spin City.

In 1997, he was one of the writers of MTV's Apt 2F, which starred Jason Sklar and Randy Sklar.

In 1999, he joined the writing staff of Everybody Loves Raymond. He was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003 for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, for the episode "Counselling." He remained on the "Raymond" staff until the show left the air in 2005.

In 2005 he became an Executive Producer and the showrunner of HBO's first ever sitcom-with-an-audience, Lucky Louie, which was created by and starred comedian Louis C.K..

Currently he is a Co-Executive Producer on Help Me Help You on ABC, and he recently signed a development deal with HBO.
