Mike Mangold (born October 10, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio[2]) is an American aviator who races in the Red Bull Air Race World Series. His best performance is first, which came in the 2005 event. His nickname is "Mungo".[1]
Mangold began his career as a fighter jet pilot for the US Air Force, going on to Top Gun. At Top Gun, Mangold earned the "Outstanding Graduate" award.[3]
Mangold has over 16,000 hours of flying time, including 2,500 hours of military fights.[3]
