Mike Klement

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Guro Mike Klement started training in Eskrima in 1984 with Masirib Guro Elliott who later introduced him to Suro Mike Inay and the complete Inayan System of Eskrima.

Mr. Klement's first lessons in Inayan Eskrima were brief in time but intense in nature. Due to a relocation away from Suro Mike Inay's school, Mr. Klement had to practice the basics he had learned independently for several years until his elder brother, Tagaturo Steven Klement, returned to Tennessee as an Instructor. At that time Mr. Klement returned to his studies of Inayan Eskrima and continues to practice and teach to this day at the Inayan School of Eskrima (ISE) which he helped launch and make a success as the first public Eskrima school in East Tennessee.

Mr. Klement attained the rank of Guro on November 14th, 2001. Mr. Klement was the first ISE Student to be awarded the rank of Inayan Guro by Tagaturo Steve Klement. This event was also symbolic of the growth of Inayan Eskrima as this was the first promotion to this rank by means of a Guro ranked directly by Suro Mike Inay.

Besides teaching regularly at the Inayan School of Eskrima, Mr. Klement has assisted in teaching seminars with both Tagaturo Steve Klement and with the late Suro Mike Inay on numerous occasions.

Mr. Klement continues to practice and teach at the Inayan School of Eskrima under the direction of Tagaturo Steve Klement and also teaches in private venues.
