Mike Erlandson

Mike Erlandson is a former state chairman of the Minnesota Democratic Party and the current chief of staff for Martin Sabo, a member of the United States House of Representatives. He was a candidate to succeed Sabo in representing Minnesota's 5th congressional district. Sabo, who is retiring from Congress, has endorsed Erlandson.
Erlandson faced a primary contest for the Democratic Party endorsement against three other prominent Democrats: former state senator Ember Reichgott Junge, Minneapolis city council member Paul Ostrow, and Keith Ellison, who was the choice of the district party convention, among a crowd of candidates. Erlandson finished second to Ellison in the primary on September 12, 2006.
Erlandson is married and lives in Minneapolis.
