Mike Chioda, born August 1 in New Jersey is a senior referee that is currently signed to the World Wrestling Entertainment to referee on the Raw brand.

As a young man, Mike lived close to the Marellas (Gorilla Monsoon and his adopted son Joey), who broke him into the wrestling business. Training him as a referee, Mike first began to appear in the WWE in 1990, most notably at SummerSlam 1990. Taking a hiatus from refereeing following WrestleMania VII, Mike began to reappear on camera around 1993, where he has become a competent referee and a fan favourite, and remains so until this day.

Mike has officiated many big matches during his WWE tenure, some of them include Shawn Michaels vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin from WrestleMania XIV, The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan from WrestleMania X8, and more recently John Cena vs. Triple H from WrestleMania 22. While not referring, Mike, as well as the other referees in WWE, help set-up the arena before shows, constructing the ring and stage area. He also appeared in an episode of the second season of WWF Tough Enough.

Mike has also competed in an actual wrestling match, teaming with Chris Jericho and The Rock to take on the team of The Dudley Boys and referee Nick Patrick on an episode of SmackDown! in 2001. Mike actually scored the pinfall victory after delivering his version of "The People's Elbow" to a prone Nick Patrick.

Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Mike began to adorn an American flag patch on his referee shirt. On an "All Referee" edition of the WWE.com show Byte This! in 2004, Mike told an inquiring Josh Mathews that he did not like the old-style "button-up and bow-tie" referee attire, preferring, at the time, the SmackDown! variant of referee shirt.

During the WWE "brand extension", Mike was sent to Friday Night SmackDown! to become senior referee of that show. In 2003, he was traded to Monday Night Raw. Following the firing of Raw`s senior referee Earl Hebner in 2005, Mike now serves as Raw`s head referee.
