Michael Chabala (born May 24, 1984) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer.

Chabala was drafted by Houston during the 2006 MLS SuperDraft. Prior to entering the professional ranks, Chabala played for the University of Washington, and for both Yakima Reds and Fresno Fuego in the USL Premier Development League. While playing for the Huskies, Chabala earned the following honors:

  • Soccer Times Third team All-American (2005)
  • NSCAA Third team All-American (2005)
  • First team All-Far West Region (2005)
  • Second team All-Pac 10 (2004-05)
  • Honorable Mention All-Pac 10 (2003)
  • Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention (2003)
  • Co-Captain (2004-05)

Chabala attended High School at Clovis West High School in Clovis, CA. During his high school soccer career, he was named an NSCAA/Adidas All-American (2002) and placed on Soccer America’s Top 25 Recruits list (2002). Chabala was also a First Team All-Conference player and the Conference offensive MVP in 2002.

During his club years, Chabala played for the Colorado Rush in 2005, winning the State and Regional Championships. He played for Ballistic United, winning the Northern Premier League and California State championship. He earned two Premier League titles, one in 2001 and the other in 2002. During his early development years, he played for the Central California Heat (1998-99) and Cyclone (1993-97) Clubs and was named to the Olympic Development Program's All-America team in 1994.
