Mike's Super Short Show
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mike's Super Short Show (also known as Super Short Show in some countries) is a promotional segment intended to appeal to children, advertising various Disney items (DVDs in particular); it has aired only on Disney Channel and Toon Disney in various time slots since February 2003. Starring Michael Alan Johnson and Alyson Stoner, the two-minute "show" provides sneak peeks of Disney movies such as Bambi II, Kronk's New Groove which were released straight-to-DVD and films previously released in theaters like Herbie: Fully Loaded, Ice Princess as well as Disney Channel Original Movies like Cadet Kelly and The Even Stevens Movie.
Mike's Super Short Show is a production/creation of 7-ATE-9 Entertainment Productions. The show is taped at Disney television studios in Los Angeles, California.
The show's opener is "It's Mike's Super Short Show, where we show you what's new on Disney DVD." The show's closing features the name of the movie, for example, "8 Below is available now on Disney DVD." Last year, it's 2nd season, the show's opener and closer featured "disney DVD and video" but with video pretty much being obsolete, by the show's 3rd season, "and video" was cut out to say "Disney DVD." Now, the introduction says "Disney Pixar DVD".
It was rumored to go 30 minutes long in 2007 and it was rumored that the show is ending this year, but there is no real statement by either the stars or the network confirming it's cancellation.
On Wednesday December 6, 2006 Mike's Super Short Show was split into two different shows to discuss the new release of 2 differet Disney DVDs, Air Buddies and The Fox and The Hound 2. The set was split into two different sets for two different shows, Mike's Super Short Show and Sally's Super Short Show. On Mike's side, Mike discussed the new release of The Fox and The Hound 2 and on Sally's side, Sally talked about the new release of Air Buddies. Mike and Sally argued about who's show the show is. Sally said it was her show and Mike called security and outcome Scooter dressed in a Security officer outfit and Sally then said "ok ok its your show." The show ended as usual with Mike and Sally saying "and now you know cuz it's Mike's Super Short Show" followed by "Air Buddies and The Fox and the Hound 2 are available now on Disney DVD"
On Saturday December 9, 2006, Mike's Super Short Show was known as Mike's Super Short Report, based on the same format as Mike's Super Short Show, where Mike and Sally sat on a "news set" behind a "news desk" and acted as news anchors, where like on Mike's Super Short Show, they promote the release of new Disney DVDs.
If the Mike's Super Short Report idea is picked up, it will premiere in 2007 and will be based on the same format as the current show except will feature a world news like set and Mike is the lead anchor. Sally is not expected to return in 2007.
