Mihael Brejc

Mihael Brejc (born on 15 November 1947 in Belgrade) is a Slovenian politician and Member of the European Parliament. He is a member of the Slovenian Democratic Party, which is part of the European People's Party, and sits on the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs.
He is also vice-chair of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence, a substitute for the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, a member of the delegation for relations with South Africa, and a substitute for the delegation to the ACP–EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly.

- Degree in sociology (1975) and master's degree in sociology (1983) from the Social Sciences Faculty of the University of Ljubljana
- 1985: Doctorate in organisational sciences from the Organisation of Work Faculty in Kranj
- Senior lecturer (1988) and associate professor (1992) at the University of Ljubljana
- since 1997: Full professor at the University of Ljubljana
- 1970-1973: Secretary of the Professional Schools Centre
- 1973-1979: Secretary of the College of Public Administration
- 1979-1985: lecturer at the College of Public Administration
- 1983-1987: Dean of the College of Public Administration
- 1990-1993: Director of the Slovenian Security and Intelligence Service
- 1994-1998: Chairman of Domžale Municipal Council
- 1995-1999: Dean of the School of Public Administration
- since 1995: Vice-President of Slovenska demokratska stranka (Slovenian Democratic Party)
- 2000: Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs
- 2000-2004: Member and Vice-President of the National Assembly of Slovenia
- 2000-2004: Member of the National Assembly delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
- 2002-2003: Alternate member of the Convention on the Future of Europe
- 2003-2004: Slovenian observer in the European Parliament
