Migra, or la Migra, is a term used within Spanish-speaking immigrant communities in the United States as a way to refer to U.S. government entities or officials that enforce U.S. immigration laws such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement or the Border Patrol, especially when it is believed that a crackdown in the vicinity is imminent. The word derives from the Spanish word migración, which translates to immigration or migration in English.
