Mieczyslaw Batsch

A Polish soccer forward, excellent scorer, who represented both Pogon Lwow and Polish National Team.

Born January 1, 1900 in Lwow, died September 9, 1977 in Przemysl. Apart from playing soccer, Batsch was a very talented mechanics engineer, graduate of Lwow's renowned Technical University (Politechnika Lwowska).

In early 1920s was a key player in legendary forward formation of Pogon, which was by all means the best team in Poland, being multiple champion of the country (1922, 1923, 1925, 1926). Together with Waclaw Kuchar and Jozef Garbien scored several goals, also for Polish National Team. His career lasted from 1916 to 1929, then occasionally played in the team Oldboye Lwow, which consisted of soccer veterans from Lwow.

In national team played in 11 games, scoring 1 goal. Batsch was a member of the side which participated in the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris.
