Talk:Midbrain tectum
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Is the tectum part of the human brain in particular, or of brains in general? RJFJR 07:33, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
- It's part of all vertebrate brains: "The map of the retina onto the optic tectum is a highly conserved feature of the vertebrate visual system" [1] dsws 16:32, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Braininfo appears to list the "pretectal region" as part of the tectum.[2] I'm not adding it to the article so far, though, because it doesn't make sense to me. dsws 03:54, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
