Midrasha
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A midrasha (plural: midrashot) is a Jewish (normally Orthodox) institution, roughly the equivalent of a Yeshiva for women. Among the Black-Hat community the term seminary or seminaria is often used. Midrashot can vary extremely in curriculum and outlook (or hashkafa, literally philosophy) depending on the movement it associates with. For example, midrashot like Nishmat put a lot of emphasis on Talmud, as in men's yeshivot, while a Chabad-Lubavich midrasha would emphasize more Bible, Jewish Philosophy, orMussar (ethics).
