Michael Leonhard is a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He was born at the clinic in Krachi Nkwanta in the Volta Region. He lived in the nearby village of Tutukpene as a young child. Several years were spent in Accra and the United States. As a teenager, he lived in the northern city of Tamale, Ghana.
