Talk:Microsoft WinHelp

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Corrected false information about Winhelp engine not being able to display large bitmaps. This is true only for native support. Bitmaps may also be displaying using a bitmap dispayer DLL with works both in situ like the native BMP support, but also floating as a popup window. See referenced work in Microsoft Bookshelf article concerning Microsoft Viewer for further information. Nearly all things microsoft Viewer was capable of, the Winhelp engine is capable of- all the animation, audio, and DIB display routines worked with winhelp. I don't know if that is the case with current versions of winhelp. -Mak Thorpe 08:32, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
