The second paragraph is pushing extreme POV. It needs to be rewritten.
While most top anchor people rarely go into the field to do stories, Michele would -- especially when hearing about a story that needed to be told and touched her heart. A video example of Michele's top-notch journalistic field-reporting skills while at WNBC can be viewed at:
