Mickey Skinner

Mickey Skinner is a former rugby player who played as both England's and the Harlequin's flanker.

Micky Skinner was born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne on 26 November 1958.

Skinner is world-renowned for fronting up to the brutal French tactics in the Rugby World Cup of 1991. England went on to win the game.

In 1994, Skinner helped uncover the commemorative plaques that marked the founding of the Blackheath Rugby Club in 1858.

Also known as "Mick the Munch" because of his propensity to inflict bone-shaking tackles on the opposition. During his career he won a total of 21 caps for England. He made his England debut on 16 January 1988 in Englands 10-9 defeat to France in Paris during the Five Nations. His final game for England was on 7 March 1993 against Wales at Twickenham as part of the Five Nations tournament.

Since leaving the games Skinner has worked as a media pundit and beame famous amongst fans for his interesting choices of waistcoat. He has also released a video where he introduces some of rugby's best tackles.
