Mickey Free was (is?) a well known Paris street urchin, minor tennis celebrity, amateur boxer and wrestler, musician, and socialite.

Born Michel Rosh-Fremonte in an unspecified region of Morocco, he spent most of his childhood being moved to orphanages in and around North Africa, Portugal, and France. After spending his adolescent years as a rapscallion, he settled down in Paris and found minor success as a tennis player. Known more for his antics off the courts than his exceptional volleying, it was during this period that he began referring to himself as Mickey Free. The French press soon followed suite in what would be the first of many nicknames given to him. His current whereabouts are unknown.
