Mickey Cucchiella
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mickey Cucchiella (born 15 November 1968), is a stand up comic, and local Baltimore celebrity. In 2005 he recorded his stand-up routine to a sold out crowd at the Baltimore Hippodrome Theatre. Known for his self-deprecating sense of humor and his “no holds barred” comments, Mickey is often criticized for his extreme opinions, such as his ardent racism and intolerance of Montgomery County, Maryland. As he stands just over 5 feet Mickey’s short stature is often the subject of ridicule, but thanks to his self-deprecating sense of humor he welcomes the ribbing and gives it right back. Cucchiella spent several years as a drummer (and sometimes guitarist) in the Baltimore music scene during the 80's-90's. Among his list of musical projects are Lost Angels and The Baltimore Small-Stars (with Sr-71's Mitch Allan).
[edit] Radio Career
Mickey's radio career began as a regular on-air guest of the Kirk, Mark and Lopez morning show on WIYY, 98 Rock. Mickey became such a regular on the show that he was able to parlay his personality and experience into a career as an afternoon drive-time disc jockey on WIYY, 98 Rock. The first iteration of the afternoon show featured Mickey with a female co-host, who was eventually replaced by his current co-host, Amelia.
As of October 30, 2006, Mickey and Amelia are the hosts of the 98 Rock Morning Show with Josh Spiegel on the news.
Mickey is also a frequent guest on WBAL radio's Chip Franklin Show where he participates in the Friday morning show with other guests displaying his sarcastic wit.
