The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is the agency of the state of Michigan charged with maintaining natural resources such as state parks, state forests, and recreation areas.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources was created in 1921 as the Michigan Department of Conservation. In 1968, the name was changed to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
