Michelle Paver

Michelle Paver is a novelist.

Paver was born in Malawi (central Africa) to a Belgian mother and a father who ran the tiny Nyasaland Times. she moved to the United Kingdom when she was three, and grew up in Wimbledon. Following a biochemistry degree from the University of Oxford, she became a partner in a City law firm. Eventually, though, having submerged herself in myth and folklore, she gave up the law in order to follow her long-held dream of becoming a writer. Successfully published as an author of books for adults, Wolf Brother – the first in a six-book series, Chronicles of Ancient Darkness – is her first book for children. It has been short-listed for the 2006 Manchester Book Award.
