Michel Samson

Michel Samson is the interim leader of the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia and the MLA for Richmond.

He received his high school education at Isle Madame District High, where he graduated with distinction. He then went to Dalhousie University where he obtained his B.A. in History. Michel continued his education at Dalhousie Law School and graduated in May, 1997 with his LL.B with a specialization in Marine Law.

Prior to the election call, Michel was articling with the Halifax law firm Blois, Nickerson & Bryson. He was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society in November, 1998 and is currently an associate with the Strait area law firm MacDonald, Boudrot, Doucet.

Elected to represent the people of Richmond in March, 1998, at age 25 becoming the youngest member of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly this century. He is also the youngest minister ever to be appointed to cabinet in the history of the Province of Nova Scotia, being named as minister of the Environment and minister responsible for administration of the Youth Secretariat Act in December, 1998. He was re-elected in 1999 and 2003.
