Michaux State Forest is a Pennsylvania State Forest in Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry District #1. The main offices are located in Fayetteville in Franklin County, Pennsylvania in the United States.
The Michaux State Forest is in several tracts covering more than 85,000 acres (more than 344 km²) located in Adams, southern Cumberland and eastern Franklin counties. District #1 also includes York County.
The forest is named after André Michaux, a French botanist. Michaux was dispatched in 1785 by the King and Queen of France to gather plants for the Royal Gardens. He and his son, Francois André, are noted for discovering and identifying a host of flowers, shrubs and trees.
