Michalovce (Hungarian: Nagymihály, German: Großmichel, Romani: Nadymihaya, Yiddish: Mikhaylovets or Mykhaylovyts) is a city on the Laborec river in eastern Slovakia. It is the biggest town of the Michalovce District (okres) in the Košice Region and has a population of 40,600 (2004).
