Michael Wolff
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Michael Wolff is a jazz pianist and composer. He is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana who grew up in Memphis, Tennessee and San Francisco, California, studied classical piano from the age of eight, and attended U.C.L.A. and U.C. Berkeley.[1]
He is married to actress Polly Draper, and they have two children.[2] He met Draper when she appeared on the The Arsenio Hall Show, where he was the band leader for five years.[1]
A movie released on video, The Tic Code, starring Gregory Hines as a saxophone player with Tourette syndrome who befriends a 10 year old boy with Tourette's, is loosely based on Wolff's life. The film was co-produced by Wolff and Draper, and the script was written by Draper, who co-stars in the film.[3]
Wolff is currently the leader of a jazz band, Michael Wolff and Impure Thoughts. He wrote music for the films Who's the Man and Made up,[4] as well as writing for and performing in other films.[5]
Wolff serves on the Board of Directors of the Tourette Syndrome Association (TSA),[6] and is involved with mentoring children with Tourette's through the chapters of the TSA.[4]
