Michael Westmacott

A first rank mountaineer born 1925. A member of the 1953 Everest expedition led by John Hunt. Educated at Radley School and Oxford. Served as a sapper officer in the 2nd. World War. Climbed exstensively in the UK and the Alps prior to Everest, and later opened new routes in Peru, the Hindu Kush and Alaska.
