Main Story Arc: Michael Tritter is a recurring character on the Fox medical drama House. Tritter is a police officer and is the main recurring character of the third season's story arc, which directly involves House, Tritter, Wilson, Cuddy, and House's staff. In the first episode of the story arc, House stuck a rectal thermometer in what he viewed was an obnoxious patient, police officer Michael Tritter, and did not apologize. This led to Tritter seeking a vendetta against House, first arresting him for DUI and possession of drugs without a prescription, and later an investigation into House's usage of the drug Vicodin and forging of prescriptions. Throughout the investigation, a major theme is who of House's friends and colleagues will remain loyal to House. Wilson eventually betrays House, giving Tritter the upper hand. Tritter then offers House the choice of going to prison, or two months of rehab. House eventually agrees to the deal before the deal expires, but Tritter rescinds the deal when new evidence arises.
Character Information: Michael Tritter is a police officer with a forceful and demanding personality. During the story arc, it becomes clear that House and Tritter have similar personalities, including their philosophy that 'everyone lies.' The similar personalities cause the two to butt heads, as each tries to out do the other to get his way. During the course of the investigation, Tritter attempts to put pressure on House by questioning and investigating House's staff and friends. After his initial attempts to squeeze information from House's friends and colleagues are not as successful as he wishes, Tritter even goes as far as to freeze their assets.
