Michael Ring
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Michael Ring (born December 1953) is an Irish politician, serving as Fine Gael Teachta Dála (TD) for Mayo. Fine Gael today describes itself as a party of the centre-right in the model of the mainland European Christian democratic parties, committed to developing a wider more pluralistic sense of Irish nationalism.
Ring is generally considered popular, if at times outspoken, by his constitutents. A former auctioneer, he was first elected in a by-election in 1994 and has been returned at every election since. He has served on the Fine Gael frontbench as shadow social and family affairs minister.
