Michael Leighton (born May 19, 1981 in Petrolia, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the sixth round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft with the 165th overall pick.

After playing three seasons for Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League, Leighton made his professional debut with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League during the 1999-2000 season. He appeared in eight games with the Blackhawks during the 2002-03 season, while the rest of his time with the Blackhawk organization was spent in the AHL.

Before the 2005-06 season, Leighton was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Milan Bartovic. He did not appear in a game with the Sabres, however, as he spent the season with their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans.

Before the 2006-07 season, Leighton signed as a free agent with the Anaheim Ducks. Later that season, before playing a game with Anaheim, Leighton was claimed off of waivers by the Nashville Predators.
