Michael Kraiger

Michael Kraiger was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 15th 1958
He began his professional art career as an illustrator for the Ohio Bell Yellow pages. He attended classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art and then Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Art located in Dover NJ.
His first professional comic book work was producing ZONE a noir adventure story centered around a toxic man-monster living in New Jersey's meadowlands. ZONE appeared in in THREAT! a comic book anthology created along with four classmates from the Kubet school and published for ten issues by Fantagraphics Books.
Michael Kraiger also contributed to ANYTHING GOES, STREET MUSIC and REAL SMUT from Fantagraphics Books
His next work in the comic book industry was at Marvel Comics where he began as a production artist in the bullpen contributing logos and design work for MARVEL AGE and various tradepaperback collections. Eventually moving to the editorial department Michael became assistant editor on MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS and the CONAN titles.
In 1997 Michael began writing stories for DC Comics CARTOON NETWORK line of titles including THE FLINTSTONES, SCOOBY DOO and CARTOON CARTOON. He wrote stories featuring his childhood favorites the HERCULOIDS as well as COW and CHICKEN and ED, EDD AND EDDY.
In January of 1999 he became an instructor at the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Art teaching drawing, story adaptation and writing.
In 2002 he began illustrating sketch-cards and worked on the Conan, Battlestar Galactica, and Star Trek card series for Rittenhouse Archives. Robots for Ink Works and The Wizard of OZ and The Vintage Poster Collection: Classic Sci-fi & Horror Posters Collector Cards series for Breygent Marketing.
