Michael Jacob (sometimes known as Mick) is a hurler who plays at county level for Wexford GAA. His favoured position is as centre forward. He is the older brother of Rory Jacob, who also plays for Wexford.
[edit] Career
Michael Jacob has played for Wexford since 2001, and was part of their Leinster championship winning team in 2004.
He is perhaps best known for scoring a famous goal in Croke Park in 2004 as part of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. After blocking an attempted clearance from Peter Barry of Kilkenny, Michael caught the ball and buried it into the net to give Wexford the win in the Leinster Hurling semi-final.
He plays his club hurling with Oulart-The Ballagh, and he has represented Leinster in the Interprovincial Championship.
