Michael Denton

Michael John Denton (born 25 August 1943) is a British-Australian biochemist who is Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Otago in New Zealand.
Denton is the author of Evolution: A Theory in Crisis and Nature's Destiny, the former book was instrumental in starting the intelligent design movement.
Although himself an evolutionist, Denton has been a strong proponent of intelligent design and is a former Senior Fellow of the Discovery Institute, hub of the intelligent design movement. Though Denton asked his name be removed from their website, the institute continues to cite his work in support of its campaign,[1] and his book Evolution: A Theory in Crisis was cited in the appendix of the controversial intelligent design textbook, Of Pandas and People. The title of Denton's book, Evolution: A Theory in Crisis was adopted by the institute as the slogan for their teach the controversy campaign.
