Michael Collins (cocktail)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Michael Collins is a drink in the family of Collins drinks.

A Michael Collins is made like any one of its cousins. Take a Collins or tall glass, fill with ice, and pour one and a half ounce of Irish Whiskey. Then pour two and a half ounces of sweet and sour mix, shake, top with soda, and serve with a straw and an orange and cherry for a garnish.

As this Collins drink uses Irish Whiskey for its alcohol, the first name Michael is added with respect to the Irish revolutionary leader of the early 20th century.
