Michael Brown (mayor)

Dr. Michael Brown is the current mayor of Grand Forks, North Dakota. He spent his childhood in Okinawa and came to Grand Forks as an United States Air Force officer. He attended the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. Today, Brown is an obstetrician at Altru Health System in Grand Forks.

He was first elected mayor in 2000 and was re-elected in 2004. He has said that he will not seek a third term. There has been talk of Brown seeking a North Dakota statewide political office, but he has not expressed any interest in such a move.
