Michael Barrington (born April 19, 1925 in London; died June 5, 1988 in London) was a British actor best known for his television work.
His most famous role was as the ineffectual Governor Venables in the popular sitcom Porridge alongside Ronnie Barker and Fulton Mackay.
He also appeared on the TV programmes Z Cars, The Avengers, Private Schulz, Adam Adamant Lives!, and in the Doctor Who story The Seeds of Doom, as Sir Colin Thackeray.
He died of a heart attack.
