[edit] Xie Jinyuan's posthumous rank
You revert my edit on his rank of being a lieutenant general instead of a brigadier general. The reason I edited it was that I was reading the Defense of Sihang Warehouse article and it stated him as a lieutenant general and I was not able to find any conclusive information supporting either, yet the defense article was a featured article. So I took the assumption that it was correct, so I'm curious on which is correct? -Davis Lee 02:46, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: I tried finding the Happy Happy Man...
Last time I went to Chinatown about a month and a half ago (on a Saturday) he was at the intersection of Grant and Washington. I believe that is the same location at which User:Allentchang took the photo that is on my userpage. I don't go to Chinatown often enough to be able to trace his movements, so I'm not sure if he hangs out at other places, but he's not always there. On some weekdays, he hangs out at Berkeley, at the edge of the UC campus between Sproul Plaza and Telegraph Avenue. He was there almost everyday at the beginning of September, but I haven't seen him since. So who knows? --Jiang 06:47, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- Probably because that guy pushed him off his podium and stepped on his sign, eh? He also sometimes hangs out at Stanford. The Daily Cal had an interesting article about him. --Xiaopo (Talk) 20:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- No, I saw him a few times after that incident (including the last time at Chinatown)...holding the same "Israel = Terrorist No. 1" sign.--Jiang 22:46, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Someone pushed him and stepped on his signs??!! *shocked* Who could be so cruel! :p -- Миборовский 00:14, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Template talk:Campaignbox Chinese Civil War
I just noticed the talk page today. I replied to it, and please correct me if I'm wrong. AQu01rius (User | Talk | Websites) 17:05, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey mib can you lock the sihang article or something? It's been vandalized and Raul apparently doesn't like to do the logical thing and protect the FA on the mainpage. BlueShirts 20:22, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well it's off the mainpage now so there shouldn't be any vandalism after this. -- Миборовский 00:10, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] November Esperanza Newsletter
Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach. Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
What's New?The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one! A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
- The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
- There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
- The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
- In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
- A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
- Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.
Signed... Natalya, Banes, Celestianpower, EWS23, FireFox, The Halo, Shreshth91 and HighwayCello

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List. [edit] Falun Gong mediation
Hello, I'm sorry it's been awhile, but I recently agreed to mediate that case. I don't know if it's a stale issue, so it would be good if a few of you let me know whether or not mediation is still needed. Since there are so many of you, I'm going to assume that all of you agree to me mediating until and unless I am told otherwise. I'm also going to assume public mediation is fine, unless someone asks for private mediation, or I come to think private mediation might be better. I would, however, appreciate it if you just said something there to let me know if you are still around. Also, assuming you are still interested in mediation, please watchlist the page if you haven't already. Thanks! Armedblowfish (talk|mail) 02:57, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Could you help
Tomananda is unfairly blocked. He exhausted his 3 reverts on this page but he did not violate the 3RR rule. I contacted the admin that blocked him the following is his response. What is more unfair is that Olaf Stephanos who had just as many reverts on that page was not blocked. Could you help unblock Tomananda?
- 3RR is not an entitlement to 3 reverts. Edit warring is prohibited. Also, the threshhold for information on Wikipedia is not truth, but verifiability; Wikipedia is not the place to reveal "the truth" except through reliable sources. Please also read Wikipedia:Resolving disputes. —Centrx→talk • 07:26, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Replied on Centrx's user talk. -- Миборовский 23:19, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi, Do you know how long is the block on Tomanada? Could you unblock him? thanks--Yueyuen 06:05, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- 24 hours, if the block log doesn't lie. -- Миборовский 06:33, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- He was blocked at about 6pm yesterday, but as of 10:50 pm today he is still blocked. Could you unblock him? --Yueyuen 06:51, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- He doesn't show up in the active block list. If he still can't edit, there's nothing I can do. He'll probably have to take it to someone with more system privileges. -- Миборовский 07:00, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
