Miami Police Department

The Miami Police Department, often referred to as the City of Miami Police, is the chief police department of the U.S. city of Miami, Florida. Their jurisdiction lies within the actual Miami city limits, but have mutual aid agreements with neighboring police departments, most importantly with the county-wide Miami-Dade Police Department. The current Chief of Police is Chief John Timoney. City of Miami police are distinguishable from their Miami-Dade counterparts by their black uniforms and blue-and-white patrol vehicles.

There are three patrolling districts and eleven communities in which those districts are responsible for:
