Phase II, which entails the completion and opening of the commuter rail and Amtrak rail services, is scheduled for completion and opening in 2011. Miami Central Station will also act as an eastern terminus for a further extension of Metrorail alongside the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) to Florida International University.
