Mi Hyun Kim (born in Inchon on 13 January 1977) is a professional golfer from South Korea. She turned professional in 1996 and won several events on the LPGA of Korea Tour. She now plays primarily on the U.S. based LPGA Tour, where she was Rookie of the Year in 1999. She has won seven LPGA events and her best finish in a major championship was second place at the 2001 Women's British Open.
Mi Hyun has been given the nickname "Peanut" because she is so tiny, a mere 5 foot 1 inches. LPGA golfers also refer to her as "Kimmy." Mi Hyun was inspired to come to the U.S. by Se Ri Pak. Her swing is characterized by an unusually long backswing.
