The Mexican Democratic Party (Partido Demócrata Mexicano PDM in Spanish) was a political party of Mexico, that existed between 1979 and 1997 of Christian Socialism ideology and right, had its origin in the National Synarchist Union.

The PDM had their origin in right elements and originating by the Catholics and the National Synarchist Union, who fought openly by the derogation of Anti-Catholic articles of the Constitution of 1917, particularly of the states of Jalisco, Aguascalientes, Querétaro, Guanajuato and Michoacán, the states which had taken place the Cristero War from 1926 to 1929. It was in this zone during 80's where it obtained his greater electoral presence, prevailing in several important municipalities like Lagos de Moreno in Jalisco or the city of Guanajuato.

As of 1988 its presence as to being more and more meager and the Presidential Elections of 1994 Emilio went with the candidacy of Pablo Emilio Madero and with the new name of National Opposition Union when conforming to his registry an alliance with other small competing forces of the country. By the low voting that it obtained in that occasion lost his registry and it again recovered it in 1996, but in the 1997 elections, it lost his registry again, this you see definitively.

Many of their militants conformed in 1999 the new Social Alliance Party, that did not obtain political presence in the country either.
