Meursault Charmes Roulot

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Meursault Charmes Roulot is a vineyard consisting of thirty acres of stony limestone and clay debris. The seventy-five year old vines produce wines with intense flavor and Guy Roulot has been producing First Growth quality wines for about half a century.

The 1973 vintage was selected for inclusion in the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976. In the blind tasting conduced by ’’crème de la crème’’ wine experts from the French wine establishment, in which it competed against nine other wines, the Meursault Charmes Roulot was ranked number two. It lost only to California’s Chateau Montelena.

Meursault Charmes Roulot also competed in the Great Chardonnay Showdown in 1980.
